Airport
Our organization does not believe an expanded airport is needed in Taos. We and John Nichols, Dilia Martinez, Phillip Reyna, Ernest Concha, Daniel Romero, Bonnie Korman, Judy Sutton and Edward and Jennifer Sylvester, have appealed the permit granted by Taos County. The Planning Commission upheld the permit for the expansion on March 11th by a voter of 5-0, including all the findings and conditions. Opponents appealed the decison on April, 30 2015 to the County Commission. A hearing by the County Commission was held on Tuesday June 9th and was continued to July 14th where they voted 3-1 to again uphold the permit. An appeal to the District Court has been made, with a petition filed to take the issue directly to the New Mexico Court of appeals. Click on Map at left for larger image showing impacted areas.
